community engagement

the hub can assist communities in carrying out community participation and engagement activities to build an evidence base of community needs and priorities.

We can assist with community surveys, community appraisals and action planning using a range of techniques, tools and processes.

Our staff are practitioners of Learning, Evaluating and Planning (LEAP) as well as Participatory Action Learning methods such as:
  • Participatory Appraisal (PA)
  • Appreciative Enquiry
  • Philosophical Enquiry
  • Focus Groups
  • Community asset based approaches
the hub coordinates the Community Action through Participation and Engagement Network (C.A.P.E) which is a regional network of trained facilitators from across the community, voluntary and statutory sectors who involve local people in the planning and development of services and activities in their local communities.

To find out more the hub information leaflet and CAPE leaflet are available at the Downloads tab above.
